NY Wing Encampment 2025
The 2025 New York Wing Encampment is ready to accept applications for attendance at this year’s activity. Check out the website for full information on how to apply and what the encampment experience entails. (nyw.cap.gov/encampment)
Initial registration is done in the Registration Zone in CAP eServices.
Cadets without encampment credit need to use the 2025 NYWG ENCAMPMENT (STUDENT ONLY) event, Cadets with encampment credit and senior members will apply using the 2025 NYWG Encampment (STAFF ONLY) event. (If a cadet does not get accepted for staff, they may be considered for the Advanced Training Flight, but they MUST initially apply for staff consideration.)
We will be accepting 132 students, 8 advanced training students, 52 cadet staff, and 34 senior staff members. The base at Syracuse restricts our total complement to 225. We generally have more applicants that we have slots available. For those cadets applying for their first encampment, the higher your grade, the better chance you have of being accepted – so get PROMOTED.
The encampment will be held at Hancock Field ANG base in Syracuse New York, starting 20 July 2025. (Staff will arrive 2 days early.). The encampment fee is $265 for cadets (students and staff) and $135 for seniors. (Apply for financial aid through National starting March 1st.)
UNIT COMMANDERS:
Using the encampment website (nyw.cap.gov/encampment), you have visibility as to who in your unit has applied and the status of their application. (There is a link at the top of the main page labeled APPLICATION STATUS. You can filter the applicants by Group.). Please do not approve a cadet’s application until they have a full set of uniforms (Blues and ABUs) with appropriate insignia.
CADET COMMAND STAFF APPLICATIONS:
If you are a Cadet Captain or higher, and are interested in a Command Staff Position (Cadet Commander, Deputy Commander for Operations, Deputy Commander for Support, Squadron Commanders) make sure you get your staff application entered as soon as possible. Deadline is Feb 22.
